This is Why Amazon is Dangerous

Thanks to everyone for the helpful tips on swimming from my last post. My current plan is to teach Anna some basic swimming skills on my own and then see where we go from there. I definitely think she needs a flotation device and a wetsuit if we're going to keep going to the beach on weekends... so I stocked up on Amazon. We'll see what works and return the stuff that doesn't....

I started with a learning to swim book... bought a used one... natch...

Then I found two different kinds of flotation devices, both approved by the coast guard - an important thing to check! I am not sure which will be better for the ocean:

On the puddle jumper, I actually ordered one that has a bumblebee on it, one of her favorite things. I think I'll keep the puddle jumper no matter what because I think it will be great for the pool. Amazing to me that this thing that looks like water wings is coast guard approved but it is definitely a lot better than those chintzy blow up water wings.

I also wanted to try a more traditional life jacket - I like the "handle" this one has. Definitely would be easier on my back then leaning down the whole time to grab her. We'll see:

Then I got a few different wetsuits to see which one fits best:

So I can't wait for this stuff to arrive (2 day shipping thanks to Amazon Mom!) and see what will work for Anna. I know that getting her into the wetsuit won't be fun but she tends to put up with a lot when she knows she'll be going in the water. It's the only time I can get her to wear a hat.
