Geeze, we are really getting hit with the diseases over here lately. This morning, Anna woke around 5:00. I heard her crying and Uri went to listen at her door. He said it sounded different, like she was having trouble breathing. We got her out of bed and it was a bit scary - she was wheezing a lot and not breathing easily. I already knew what our pediatrician would say so I got dressed quickly and headed to the ER. By the time we got there, she sounded a lot better already. She was diagnosed with Croup and given a dose of steroids. I do have to say that 5:30 am is a great time to visit the ER. We didn't have anyone in front of us in line and we had great service from two nurses and the doctor. Very pleasant.
Anna seems pretty good now, I have a humidifier going and she's uh, playing the iPad. We did do some other playing this morning too. Gosh, we are really iPad junkies over here. I admit it. (By the way, thanks for voting in my iPad poll. Either most of you are trying to be nice or most of you really don't think I'm ruining my child with video games.)
The doctor told us Croup lasts about a week. Oh fun times. I'm going to see if my mom can help a little so I can go in to work again this week. I was really jamming on some projects and I'm dissappointed to have to slow down. But of course, Anna comes first. Uri feels pretty bad because he had to leave early today for a big meeting in San Jose. Like a huge, future of the company is hinging on it type of meeting. So he couldn't go with us to the ER and won't be home tonight until she's already asleep. But, I feel like I have it under control.
We had to cancel our two playdate plans for the weekend - obviously, so we're just going to chill out. Supposedly the first two days of Croup are the worst and then it settles a bit. So we'll ride it out.
