I thought I would share a real food confession - something I made for myself recently that I really enjoyed but is kind of embarrassing. I made a bean and cheese burrito and put cut up hot dog in it. It was so tasty! I pretty much eat bean and cheese burritos every day for dinner when Uri is gone. I think they are the perfect food - take about 2 minutes to make (microwave!) and are mmm mmm delicious. I had these hot dogs in the meat drawer like forever but since they are cured they last quite a while. I thought it would be delightful to combine two of my favorite things. Delicious.
Look at this! I googled hot dog burrito just for fun and behold... a burrito INSIDE a hot dog. It is also wrapped in bacon which I could do without but wow, that is some innovation.
Do you have something you eat that is really good to you but maybe a little strange or embarrassing?

I just dipped some pretzels in cream cheese. No regrets!

ReplyDeleteMost of what I eat is not of this Earth, so I'm unsure where exactly to start. I think one of my most humbling moments recently was being too damn tired to make or even eat much of anything for dinner, so all I did was microwave bacon and put the slices on a plate. 8 slices of bacon, to be precise. That was my dinner.
ReplyDeleteSigh.
Oh my. I was so disgusted by the burrito in a hotdog that I couldn't type. Then, I read the comments and laughed out loud at K's 8 pieces of bacon. I'm so distracted.
ReplyDeletehmmm, a brand of potato chips only sold around my home town + a specific, also local brand of french onion dip = total deliciousness. It's not weird, but it's wildly unhealthy and not my usual diet. Add a Pepsi and there's very little in this world that can compare.
Wheat Thins with Easy Cheese - Cheddar Bacon flavor. The kind that comes in an aerosol can. Mmm.
ReplyDeleteYour burrito didn't sound so terrible, but the picture of the reverse version is disgusting!
I don't think this is weird but Chris always comments how gross it is when I do it... I love peanut butter on toasts with a big glass of orange juice. The contrast between the sweet PB and the tangy OJ, yum!! In my book, they go together like milk and cookies. Love it.
ReplyDeleteI used to eat eggo waffles with bologna when I was a kid. No syrup though. I loved that the size of the bologna was the same size of the eggo :) Everyone thinks its the most disgusting thing!
ReplyDeleteMy husband loves to eat something very close to your creation. He takes a tortilla, sprinkles it with cheese, wraps a hot dog with it, then microwaves. He and his best friend call it an Ameri-chlida (American Enchilada)
